A Film About Kids & Music - Ramon Tort

A Film About Kids and Music is a documentary by Ramon Tort about the Sant Andreu Jazz Band. The young orchestra, directed by Joan Chamorro, brings together boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18 to play a classical jazz repertoire that fills the most important auditoriums in the country.

The film is a journey guided by the orchestra's conductor, who immerses us in his teaching method, as unique as the results it generates. A story that will make us vibrate with the staging of the talent of these children and will move us through all the sensations they are capable of awakening.

On this journey they are accompanied by Jesse Davis, Terell Stafford and Wycliffe Gordon, American musicians admired by all jazz lovers who nourish the musical spirit of such precocious trajectories as Elsa's, who at only 6 years old plays the trumpet like an angel.

Between 2013 and 2014 the film was submitted to 37 festivals around the world and won 14 awards, including the "Audience Award for Best International Documentary at the Nashville Film Festival", the "Platinum Award for Best Documentary at WorldFest Houston", both in the USA, the "Award for Best Independent Documentary at the Edmonton International Film Festival", in Canada, the "Award for Best Spanish Musical Documentary at the International Musical Documentary Film Festival IN-EDIT. BEEFEATER", in Spain, and a "Special Mention to the best film, at the International Film Festival for Children (...and not so children) in Mexico.
